Agent Referral Guide

Refer with confidence when the stakes are more than financial.

An agent's guide to introducing a business-owner client to CREBB Group.

You don't need to know what the business is worth. You only need to recognize the moment and know who to call.

When a client starts asking what comes next for their company, that question lands with the person they already trust. CREBB Group gives you a disciplined, confidential way to help them take the next step.

Signals worth noticing

You are not diagnosing anything. You are listening for:

  • I'm thinking about retiring.
  • I don't know what the business is worth.
  • My kids don't want to take it over.
  • I might sell the building, but I don't know what to do with the company.
  • My partner wants out.
  • Someone approached me about buying the business.
  • We need a bigger space. We need a smaller space.

These are conversation signals — not proof anyone is ready to sell.

Who to refer

Any business with employees. That's the screen. Think of us when:

  • An owner is curious about value but has no transaction planned — including owners three to five years out.
  • Retirement, estate planning, health, or a partnership change has raised the question.
  • The owner occupies or owns the operating property, and the business and real estate decisions are tangled together.
  • Family succession is uncertain, or the owner is central to every decision.
  • An unsolicited offer has arrived and the owner has no way to judge it.

If the timing isn't right, we say so and point the owner toward preparation rather than a transaction. Nothing is wasted by referring early.

How the handoff works

Step 01

Introduce

Submit the referral at refer.crebbgroup.com. We need four things: your client's name, their business name, phone, and email. No financials, no confidential details. Tell us in the notes whether your client knows you're referring them.

Step 02

Assess

We acknowledge you within one business day and confirm the handoff you chose — agent-led email introduction, three-way call, or direct contact. We tell you before anything happens with the owner.

Step 03

Clarify

We make first contact within one business day and hold a confidential conversation about worth, timing, and options. The interview follows within days; the assessment is finished about a week after it. Your name stays attached the whole way through.

What to say to your client

“I work with CREBB Group when a business owner wants a thoughtful conversation about what they've built, timing, or what comes next. They can help you understand the possible path without assuming you're ready to sell. If it's useful, I'm glad to make an introduction.”

That's the whole script. You're offering an introduction, not advice.

What not to promise

  • Don't estimate what the business is worth, or repeat a multiple or rule of thumb you've heard.
  • Don't promise a sale, a buyer, a price, a timeline, or an outcome. We never guarantee a sale.
  • Don't call our work an appraisal. It is not a certified appraisal.
  • Don't give tax, legal, or accounting guidance — point to their own advisors.

If your client asks something you can't answer, that's the ideal moment for the introduction.
