Refer with confidence when the stakes are more than financial.

CREBB Group helps agents guide business-owner clients into a disciplined, confidential first conversation about value, timing, and what comes next.

The moment to recognize

You are often the first person who hears it.

Business owners rarely announce a transition. They mention it once, in the middle of a conversation about something else. These are the sentences worth noticing.

“I am thinking about retiring.”

“I do not know what the business is worth.”

“My children do not want to take it over.”

“I may sell the building, but I am not sure what to do with the company.”

“My partner wants out.”

“I am ready for something different.”

“We need a larger or smaller facility.”

“Someone approached me about buying the business.”

These are conversation signals, not proof that an owner is ready to sell. You do not need to diagnose the situation, estimate a value, or make any promise on our behalf. Recognizing the moment is enough.

What happens next

What happens after you make the introduction.

Ninety seconds on how we handle the owner, how we keep you informed, and what we will not promise.

  • Why agents are often the first to hear that an owner is considering a transition.
  • The owner situations we can help assess, and the ones we cannot.
  • How the handoff works, and who contacts the owner first.
  • What we will and will not promise you or your client.

What the introduction produces

Two people are counting on this being handled well.

What the owner receives

  • A confidential first conversation about worth, timing, and options, with no assumption that they are ready to sell.
  • A no-cost Confidential Business Assessment, at no obligation.
  • A plain explanation of what this first conversation can and cannot establish, and what information would be needed for a further step.
  • A respectful close if there is not a fit, with nothing overstated about what we can offer.

What you can expect

  • Acknowledgment of your referral within one business day.
  • Timely contact with the client within one business day.
  • Source attribution recorded to you, and carried through every later step.
  • Status updates at the level the owner's confidentiality permits, so you are never guessing.

How it works

Three steps, in this order, every time.

  1. Step 01

    Introduce

You send the minimum we need. No financials, no confidential deal detail.

  2. Step 02

    Assess

We hold a confidential fit and readiness conversation with the owner.

  3. Step 03

    Clarify the path

The owner learns what a responsible next step looks like. You receive an update at the level confidentiality allows.

Full information & complimentary training

Understand the whole picture before you refer anyone.

You do not need a client in mind to use this. The agent portal holds the full information on how we work with business owners, along with complimentary training you can take at your own pace, at no cost and with no obligation to send us a referral.

What the portal covers

  • How the business and the real estate get analyzed together, and why that changes an owner's options.
  • How to recognize the moment an owner is open to a conversation, and how to raise it without overstepping.
  • What the Confidential Business Assessment includes, so you can describe it accurately to a client.
  • The referral process end to end, including what we ask of you and what we never ask of you.

Who it is for

  • Agents at any brokerage whose clients own or operate a business, referral in hand or not.
  • Anyone who would rather understand the process before putting a client's name on it.
  • Agents who want language they can use in their own conversations with owners.

Before you refer

The questions agents ask first.

Does my client have to be ready to sell?

No. Most of the owners worth introducing are not ready, and some never will be. The first conversation is about understanding value, readiness, and options. An owner who decides to wait five years still leaves that conversation better informed, and you still get the credit for arranging it.

What do you need from me to start?

The minimum: your details, the owner's name and contact information, the company name if you have it, why you think an introduction makes sense, and any other information you would like to share. Please do not send financials, confidential deal information, or sensitive owner data through this page.

Will you contact my client directly?

Yes, we will reach out within one business day.

What if the property is part of the decision?

That is the situation we are built for. If your client owns or occupies the operating property, the business and the real estate need to be examined together, because occupancy costs, lease terms, location dependence, financing, and timing all change the options on both sides.

Does this put my client relationship at risk?

Protecting it is the point of the process. Your name stays attached to the introduction, we tell you before anything happens with the owner, and we do not treat a referral as a lead to be worked. If we cannot help, we say so and close the loop respectfully rather than staying in the relationship.

What can you tell me after the introduction?

We will confirm we made contact, and we will tell you where things stand in general terms: whether your client engaged, whether there is a fit, and whether anything is moving forward. We will not pass on what the owner told us, any figures discussed, or the substance of the assessment. Owner confidentiality sets that line, and we would rather hold it plainly than overshare about your client.

What exactly does the Confidential Business Assessment include?

The assessment gives an owner a picture of the market as we see it, the paths available for carrying value forward, likely pricing for each, and our honest read on how likely each of those paths is to work. It is finished within about a week of the owner’s first interview, assuming their documents reach us on time.

What areas do you cover?

North America. If you are unsure whether your client’s market or situation is a fit, ask anyway and we will tell you honestly.

Three ways to start

Refer, talk it through, or learn the ground first.

If you already have someone in mind, send the referral. If you would rather understand the process before putting a client's name on it, book fifteen minutes with Russ. And if you simply want the full picture first, the training portal is open to you at no cost.
